David Taylor Wins Olympic Gold Medal

David Taylor won 4-3 over Iran's Hassan Yazdani in the Olympic Finals!!! In an exciting match against a defending Olympic champion and one of the world's greatest wrestlers in Yazdani, David scored a takedown with less than 20 seconds left in the match to move in front for the thrilling victory.

Congratulations to David Taylor on an absolutely fabulous performance!!!

Thomas Gilman Wins Bronze

In outstanding performances with an Olympic medal on the line, Thomas Gilman dominated both of his repechage matches to win an Olympic Bronze Medal. The offensive-minded Gilman scored an 11-1 technical fall over Gulomjon Abdullaev of Uzbekistan to earn a spot in the Bronze medal match, and then to earn the Bronze, he controlled the action in well-executed 9-1 win over Reza Atrinagharchi of Iran

Congratulations Thomas!!!

Bekzod Abdurakhmonov has Opportunity to Wrestle Back for Bronze

Bekzod Abdurakhmonov won his opening match over teammate Franklin Gomez but dropped a hard-fought 13-6 second round match to two-time defending World Champion Zaurbek Sidakov of Russia. Bekzod and Sidakov were in a very close back and forth match when Sidakov came out on top of a scramble position with a leg lace, scoring several points to break the match open. With Sidakov advancing to the Gold medal match, Bekzod has the chance to wrestle back for Bronze. He will compete at 10:00 p.m ET on Thursday

Franklin Gomez Falls Short

Franklin Gomez (Puerto Rico) dropped his opening round match to NLWC teammate Bekzod Abdurakhmonov (Uzbekistan). When Bekzod lost his second match to Sidakov, Franklin lost the opportunity to wrestle back for the Bronze. Although falling short of his dream of an Olympic Medal, congratulations to Franklin on being a three time Olympian!

In addition to training hard and chasing his own wrestling dreams, Franklin has truly made a difference in the wrestling careers of his NLWC training partners, as evidenced by the success of both the NLWC and Penn State middle weights who have benefitted from training with Franklin. Thanks Franklin!

Kyle Snyder Is Up Next

Kyle Snyder begins his quest for a Gold medal with an opening round match at 10:00 p.m. ET on Thursday against Jordan Steen of Canada
