The Nittany Lion Wrestling Club (NLWC) invites you to participate in the Club’s annual Golf Classic on Friday, August 30, 2024 at the Toftrees Golf Resort in State College, PA.  

The Golf Classic has been one of the primary fundraising activities for the NLWC for the past 30 years.  Proceeds go toward the NLWC Resident Athlete Program, and along with the golf, there is great food, contest prizes, team prizes for 1^st, 2^nd, & 3^rd place teams (blind flights established based on the number of teams entered), silent auction items, and the opportunity to spend a fun day with NLWC wrestlers, coaches, friends, and other wrestling fans.  

Each group (foursome) will start at their own tee time with tee times ranging from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. with a new group starting every 10 minutes.   We will do our best to accommodate tee time requests with preferences being given by order of registration.  

The registration fee is $225 per golfer and includes:  cart, greens fees, BBQ lunch (served from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), breakfast or afternoon snack (depending upon tee times), shirt, and the opportunity to win plenty of contest, team, and door prizes!  

Each player must contribute 2 drives (par 3 holes excluded).  Golfers who are 65 or older and have a handicap of 10 or higher will be permitted to hit from the gold tees.  Mulligans will be available for purchase on the day of the tournament.  The maximum number of mulligans for each player is 4, maximum of 1 mulligan per player per hole, and no skill or hole-in-one prizes can be won with a mulligan.

The NLWC also has some other special events planned with this year’s golf tournament:  

Social and New Truck or $25,000 CASH Raffle Drawing will be held the Evening before the Golf Tournament

There will be a social hosted by the NLWC at 6:30 pm on Aug. 29th at the Toftrees Golf Resort, the evening before the tournament.   Also taking place will be the new truck or $25,000 Cash Raffle Drawing. Information for attending the social/raffle drawing will be emailed later in the summer.

Opportunity to watch NLWC Olympic RTC Practices

In the past, many golfers and sponsors have attended the Club’s Olympic RTC practices.  The plan for the 2024 golf tournament is to again open up the practices on Thursday (29^th) afternoon and Friday (30^th) morning to golfers and sponsors.  The exact practice times will be emailed to golfers and sponsors later in the summer.
